Do you ever listen to a song and it reminds you of a specific thing, like a memory, a show, a movie, etc.? Well if you’ve ever seen the movie Cars, the song “Sh-Boom” by The Cords probably brings you right back to that movie! And if it doesn’t, go watch Cars again!
This song is very upbeat, and it has a happy, “life is good”, vibe to it! The lyrics to the song are very hopeful and happy. The lyrics, “ If you will tell me I'm the only one that you love, Life could be a dream,” show that all the singers need/want to have a dreamy life is for the person they are singing about to tell them that they love them.
I really love this song, partly because of the good memories it brings back from watching Cars as a kid (so many times it drove my parents insane), but also because of the hopeful and happy message it conveys! It has almost a “bouncy” feel to it, and I love the way it sounds and feels!
Until I read your comment, I didn't honestly didn't recognize that this song was in Car! Very iconic song though! I'll have to rewatch the movie, because it has been a while! Anyway, as per the song itself, I agree with you about the "bounciness" of the song. It really is a feel good song, and you can especially feel it during the "doo-wap"s with the sax solo. That was probably my favorite bit out of the whole song. Great post!
ReplyDeleteMuch like William above me, I too did not remember this song from Cars, but you inspired me to go watch it again and I thank you for that. Solid review, I think "bouncy" was a perfect way to describe this song! Bouncy song aside, I really dig your blog layout! The background made for a peaceful feel to this review and I think that really complimented your song choice. Awesome work!
